Canada C250

Changes under Bill C-250 would expand the definition of "identifiable group" in Section 318 of Canada's Criminal Code, which deals with hate propaganda. Where the code refers to "any section of the public distinguished by color, race, religion or ethnic origin," it would also include "sexual orientation."

Sexual orientation will be added to list of protected class for hate crimes and so called hate speech. and certain passages of scripture will be illegal

  • Gen 19
  • Lev 20:13, 18:22
  • Rom 1:18-32
  • 1Cor 6:9

Reason for Mayday for Marriage

Currently in the state of Massachusetts marriage has been redefined to include same sex couples. Same sex weddings are currently being preformed as ordered by the Supreme Court of Massachusetts until the people of the state can establish a State Constitution Amendment defining marriage solely between a man and a women, which is a two-year process.

This potential redefinition of marriage rests in every state in America , but the next battleground state is Washington ! Same sex marriage is a real possibility in Washington as early as this summer! Every state that does not have a State Constitutional Amendment defining marriage regardless of current Defense of Marriage Acts (DOMA) defining marriage as biblically, historically and culturally defined between a man and a woman runs the risk of having marriage redefined to include same sex couples and potentially beyond.

History of Mayday for Marriage

On Monday March 8th, Seattle Mayor, Greg Nickels issued an executive order giving same sex couples married in other states, recognized married status and benefits for all city employees and employees of contractors doing business with the city. On Tuesday March 9th, Attorney Brian Faling of the American Family Association contacted Wayne Taylor, Senior Pastor of Calvary Fellowship in Mountlake Terrace near Seattle, to see if he or anyone living in the Seattle city limits would be part of a lawsuit against the Mayor to stop his executive order. On Wednesday, Pastor Wayne announced that he was putting together a rally at Prefontaine Park, next to the courthouse to rally pastors against this executive order and to file a lawsuit against the mayor. On Thursday, the rally took place with about 50 mostly Calvary Chapel pastors from the Puget Sound area. Due to press releases, media from various agencies, local and national covered the event. During the rally several pastors spoke, one being Ken Hutcherson from Antioch Bible Church in Redmond. Ken said that we were going to have even a bigger rally to show what happens when you "mess with God's people".

On Thursday March 18th several more pastors from various denominations and ethnicities met at Antioch Bible Church to plan the next move. Action was decided upon and a steering committee assigned. The steering committee began to meet twice a week and within a week after much discussion and prayer decided to hold a rally at Safeco Field in Seattle on May 1, 2004 calling it Mayday for Marriage. A prior pastors rally would be held on April 9th, Good Friday to further inspire pastors and get the word out about Mayday for Marriage on May 1st.

After much prayer and planning and the involvement of over 550 churches Mayday for Marriage was held at Safeco field on Saturday May 1, 2004. About 20,000 people from all over the Puget Sound area attended. The rally included mostly local pastors as well as Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family and Tony Perkins of Family Research Council. The rally was reported on by all the local media and was simulcast by various Christian and political stations. Reports of the Rally were picked by the Associated Press and were reported across the country and even as far as England.

Mayday for Marriage is dedicated to seeing that laws are enacted such as the Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA) that will preserve the definition of marriage to be only between a man and a woman. We are hoping that Christians from all denominations and ethnicities will rise up to the call to be good stewards of the democracy we enjoy in this nation. We are calling upon pastors to help their congregants register to vote and pass information onto them of which candidates are pro-marriage.

Psalm 94:16-20 (KJV)

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers ? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity ? 17 Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. 18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. 19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. 20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
