A Call to all Intercessors across the State of Washington to unite in prayer for the:

March 8 th Mayday for Marriage Rally

God has chosen us to live in a very crucial moral and societal time in history. We are in the middle of intense spiritual battles. One of those battles is that God's definition of marriage (one man and one woman) is being challenged by the Washington State Supreme Court during the next couple months.

WOULD YOU PLEASE PRAY FERVENTLY WITH US?

  • Be praying now and ask others to agree with you in prayer.
  • Attend the Rally and pray wherever you are during the Rally.
  • Be part of the prayer volunteers. Register at the Volunteer Tent by 9:30am and receive an assignment to pray before and during the Rally.
  • Stay after the Rally and be part of a team to prayerwalk some of the Capitol area.
WHAT TO PRAY FOR
  • That the Holy Spirit will be in complete control of the Rally, and that His presence, direction, protection, righteousness and love will flood the Capitol Grounds in Olympia
  • For unity within the Body of Christ in our state, and for God's people to do all we can for righteous causes
  • That all spiritual forces of darkness will be overcome.
  • That Christ will be exalted in all that we think, do and say
  • That our governmental leaders (the governor, the nine Supreme Court justices, the state legislators and others) will be impacted, as God desires.
  • The speakers: Pastor Joseph Fuiten (Cedar Park Assembly and WERG), Pastor Ken Hutcherson (Antioch Bible Church and Mayday for Marriage), Pastor Daniel Villa (Allianza Christiana y Misionera), Pastor Alec Rowlands (Westgate Chapel and Sound the Alarm), Dr. Madison (St. Johns Episcopal Church), Jeff Kemp (Families Northwest), Rabbi Daniel Lappin and others.

In 1998, the Washington State Legislature passed the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) to define marriage as one man and one woman. In 2004, lower courts in Thurston and King Counties found DOMA to be unconstitutional. On March 8 th , at 1:30pm, the nine justices of the Washington State Supreme Court will hear brief arguments on whether to uphold those lower court rulings or to uphold the existing DOMA. If the Supreme Court agrees with the lower court rulings, Washington could join Massachusetts as the only two states in the nation to allow gay marriage.

So, Mayday for Marriage, Sound the Alarm, Washington Evangelicals for Responsible Government (WERG) and other Christian groups are partnering to call Christians across our state to attend the March 8 th Rally, from 11:00am-1:00pm, at the West Capitol Grounds in Olympia , to stand together for God's definition of marriage, and ultimately for a state Constitutional Amendment to protect the sanctity of marriage in Washington! Make sure to check the Mayday website for parking directions!
